National Qualifications - Courses in French – Aims and Course Structure The main purpose of the Course is to develop the skills of reading, listening, talking and writing in order to understand and use French across the contexts of Society, Learning, Employability, and Culture. The Course offers learners opportunities to develop and extend a wide range of skills.
In particular, the Course aims to enable learners to develop the ability to:

Added Value Unit: Assignment The purpose of this Added Value Unit is to carry out a research project.

The course has two mandatory Units; the skills of reading, listening, talking and writing will be internally assessed during the course and the National 5 award in French will be awarded if success in the externally assessed exam is achieved.

Writing Assignment, A French essay will be written in class on a chosen topic and will be marked by the SQA. |
